They make some very long (20`) stringers you can attach to yourself and then slide the fish to the far end. They are away from you and if something meaner than you wants them, let him have em. I spearfish in fresh water (Arkansas) and use a metal clip about 18" long that I attach to my BC. Works fine, but I surely wouldn`t use it in salt water.
