I use to be a fire fighter on the gulf coast before hurricane katrina, I was on our dive rescue team and our department sent us through rescue diver international, its a bit pricey and you have to find a class nearby which can be really hard but youll learn like we did that public safety diving is NONETHING like open water diving. You need a diver, standby diver, tender, and a medic on scene. The divers also need a redunant air supply such a pon bottle or spare air. It helps if you have access to full face masks and under water communication systems.
