I had put a marker light on my BCD ( while diving at night and one of the instructor yelled at me for doing so, telling me that the flashing sequence could cause epileptic seizure. Was he right telling me that? Does anyone know for sure if it could cause that kind of reaction???

Seriously doubt many epileptics get certed to dive....... Same warning they put on video games .....guess its possible ....think the instructor was juz bein buddy has the same light and none of us have siezed yet.

I have several buddies that use these. I use a different type that isn’t bright like a strobe. I don’t think somebody with epilepsy will be diving.

I use the same marker light. I don’t think it flashes fast enough to trigger a seizure. Working as a paramedic for over 27 yearsI have only had maybe a few people tell me that bright flashing lights would trigger a seizure.

Fantastic, thanks everybody for your answers. I’ll keep using the light.
