Clay Wall is a boat accessible fresh water dive site, located in Montague, MI 49437. This dive site has an average rating of 3.50 out of 5 from 2 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 41-50ft/12-15m. The average visibility is 36-40ft/11-12m.

In 50’ of water about 1/2 mile NW of the Whitehall Channel is a naturally occurring clay wall. I runs parralell to shore for about a quarter mile and is anywhere for 2feet to 10 feet tall. Perch, Small Mouth Bass, Sheephead, an occational troll, bicycle, bird bath, Wheel chair...??? you never know... ???

I went scuba diving here on 7/26/2014. Average viz: 41-50ft/12-15m. Water temp: 50-55°F/10-13°C.

Some times visibility is as much as 100 feet (but usually 20 to 50). I have seen Large schools of Perch on good vis days.
