Cedar Beach Jetty is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located at Harbor Road, Mount Sinai, NY. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 4 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 16-20ft/5-6m. The average visibility is 5-10ft/2-3m.

This is a typical Long Island Shore Dive. Best accomplished when the tide is high and the wind is NOT from the North. Parking is abundant, and the area is frequented on Friday and Saturday by some of the Local Dive Shops for Open Water Training. Walk in, beach dive down to around 17-20 FSW depending on how far you want to swim. A pebble bottom on entry changes quickly to a silty/sand bottom which makes buoyancy and fin control important to save visibility. When diving from the "Cedar West" parking field you can find a few buoy anchor rings which act as mini reefs to the local fish and spider crabs. If you are daring and have a cutting device, you can attempt to swim along the fishing pier and find lost items for salvage. This is a low key, easy going dive with a few things to see. Perfect for the beginning diver or to start out your year after the winder hiatus. Visibility is usually around 5-6 feet but can be effected by many factor including wind, current, tides, and the diver him/her self. Overall a nice dive to get wet with.
