Speed

Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays: 45 mph

Sunset to sunrise: 25 mph

Weekdays during daylight: Unlimited

Charted Slow – No Wake Areas

· Mangan Cove

· Ledgedale Cove (including Wallenpaupack Creek)

· Between Burn’s Island and the Wayne County Shore

· Between Cairn’s Island and the Pike County Shore

As on all waters of the Commonwealth, you are limited to “Slow-No-Wake” speed whenever you are

within 100 feet of the shoreline, docks, swim platforms, moored, drifting or anchored boats, or any person

in the water (swimmers and downed skiers).

Miscellaneous Special Regulations and Information

Waterskiing is prohibited on weekends and holidays at the western end of the lake between a line about

200 yards east of Cairn’s Island (as marked by buoys) and the Ledgedale Recreation Area.

Kite skiing and parasailing are prohibited on weekends and holidays at all locations. Kite skiing and

parasailing are prohibited between Ledgedale Recreation Area and the Kipp Island/Wallenpaupack Lake

Estates cement boat launch ramp.

Scuba diving is a popular activity at Lake Wallenpaupack. Divers will either have a service vessel marked

with a dive flag (most often a red flag with a diagonal white line) or will float a buoy with a dive flag in the

area they are diving. Pennsylvania law requires that no boat operate within 100 feet of a diving operation

(marked by a dive flag).

Boats must keep out of restricted area around the dam.

I went scuba diving here on 6/24/2007. Average viz: 5-10ft/2-3m. Water temp: 56-60°F/13-16°C.
