Lucerne, Lake Chelan, WA - Lucerne WA

Loading...
Lucerne, Lake Chelan, WA is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Lucerne, WA. This dive site has an average rating of 3.00 out of 5 from 1 scuba divers. The maximum depth is over 150ft/46m. The average visibility is under 5ft/2m.

Located 41 miles up lake from Chelan on the south shore of Lake Chelan, the former mining town site of Lucerne is set deep in the Wenatchee National Forest. This pristine, 50.5 mile glacier-fed lake is 1.5 miles at its widest and 1486 ft. at its deepest point.

The bottom drops off quickly from the shoreline. There are some ore cars and possibly a tractor that were sunk off the shore at this location. 47 degrees - very low vis, 3 to 5 feet. Dive buddy and I went down to 65’ and then went back to 20’ to follow the shoreline. The river coming into the lake at this location stirs up the sediment. On our second dive we did find some old tracks and the wheel of an old oar car, possibly from when they added material to create the Lucerne cabin area for the Chelan Boat Club. Later info suggests we try diving out from the current Lady of the Lake Dock for the ore cars at @ 90’.
