First dives off of Catalina Island. Went out with Sundiver and had a great experience. Saw a lot of fish, lobster, and a small leopard shark. The kelp forests were amazing.

One of the best cold water sites on the Pacific side of the US. You can dive shallow sandy bottoms down to blue water deep. When the vis is good, there isn’t a better dive in California.

I’ve been here twice, for a total of dive dives. Vis in May was 10 feet, water was 56-59 degrees. Vis in Sept was 40 feet and the water temp was 70. Did all 5 dives at Casino Point. Easy access for shore diving and a refill station right next to the entry/exit point...you’ll see some fish, but not a lot. Its a good place to go for LA, and the island can be fun. But its not a world class destination. In other words, its a good place to go if you’re in the area.

...the diving is OK here, better than a lake dive, but it’s not the Caribbean!

Abundance of sea life from surf perch and garibaldi to small sand rays and Charlie the giant sheepshead fish! Great dive with great company. Can’t wait to go back and hit some other parts of the island.

Casino Point is a very nice relaxing dive. Can be daunting if you are not use to kelp!
