I went scuba diving here on 5/23/2015. Average viz: 16-20ft/5-6m. Water temp: 50-55°F/10-13°C.
This was our first dive in the kelp beds and we went with the Lois Ann. Eric and Shelby from them were awesome, I would recommend them and use them again myself. We saw plenty of lobster, crab, plenty of cold water fish, and possibly a giant sea bass (couldn’t make it out because of the vis, but it was certainly one of the biggest fish I’ve ever seen). There was a good surge and some swells every once in a while, but no current or surf. I wore my usual 3 mm full with a 7mm hooded vest for cold water, still pretty chilly at first and on the second dive but it’s bearable

Excellent Spot in terms of California kelp forest experiences. Lots of structure and marine life.

Second night of Lobster season went to the Kelp beds. Temp was average of 60 at 37 feet. Water Horse charters was well organized. I did not get any legal lobsters, all short. They were there in the kelp and on the rock formations. Our boat got 8 for the two tanks.
