Easy beach entry. There is a life guard on duty, at least during the summer, and a $5 fee per person, but if you ask nice like "We’re not going to be on the beach at all, we’re just going diving. Do we still have to pay?" The lifeguard may let you pass without paying.
It’s an educational dive. There’s loads of sea grass and in late August tons of jellyfish too. There’s skate and flounder and a brown fish with a mohawk whose name I didn’t know. It could have been Bubba.
My dive buddy says it’s a great night dive, but I haven’t been yet, so I can’t confirm.
There’s a picnic table and a port-o-potty on site seasonally. But if you’re fastidious, and I am, you can walk back up the street a ways to a local inn or restaurant to use their facilities. Directions can be found at the website:
