Crusty’s Quarry - Volant PA

Crusty’s Quarry is a shore accessible fresh water dive site, located in Volant, PA. This dive site has an average rating of 4.20 out of 5 from 10 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 41-50ft/12-15m. The average visibility is 21-25ft/6-8m. This dive site provides bathrooms and airfills. Training platforms are available.

This 9 acre lake is approximately 3 miles South of the Prime Outlets in Grove City, Pennsylvania and owned by Scott’s Scuba Service. This is where I spend most of my weekends off.

Crusty’s is NOT open to the public. Scott was able to take ownership of this site at a time when several others we frequented were becoming restricted and eventually closed to divers. Thanks to Scott, his students have a place to learn and practice their open water skills and store patrons can continue filling their log books.

With that being said, I realize that it may not be possible for some people (especially for my virtual buddies) to patronize the store or participate in one of the many classes offered, but I’m thinking that if someone wanted to check it out, we could arrange a time and place to meet and make it happen.

Enough of the sales pitch, if you have any questions, please call the store or send me an e-mail.

I dove there with a buddy in early Summer, my understanding is that since Scott sold his dive shop, this quarry is now open to the public.....Divers! Pay and Dive!

The best dive I ever had. It was slow, relaxed, and I got a lot of pictures in. This was also the longest time I spent underwater since I started diving(55 minutes). I used a Gopro Hero 3 and was able to get a couple of decent shots of freshwater jellyfish and a large bass.
