Sandwich Town beach is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in East Sandwich, MA. This dive site has an average rating of 3.57 out of 5 from 7 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 31-35ft/9-11m. The average visibility is 21-25ft/6-8m.



Great dive site - Sandy beach that gently sloping , mild surf and tides, while the hard bottom is richly covered in seaweed which provides cover for numerous flounder and lobster.


Good dive to do in the winter months, plenty of parking, easy access when the beach goers are not out.


Directions from Boston


  • Take route 93S to route 3, then route 3 to route 6 (just over Cape Cod canal).
  • From route 6 take exit 2. Follow route 130 north towards Sandwich. Just past the intersection of Main St. on the right, turn right on to Tupper Rd.
  • Follow Tupper Rd. as it crosses route 6A. After crossing route 6A, take your first right on to Town Neck Rd (This may actually be Great Neck Rd. The directions in the dive guide are unclear.)
  • Follow Town Neck Rd. to the end and turn right onto Freeman Rd. Follow Freeman Rd. to the end and turn left on Wood Av. Follow Wood Av. to the end and turn right into the parking lot. There should be three board walks on the beach. There is no parking fee after 4 pm. And during on season if you park in a residents only area they will tow you.
