This is Logged dive 1118, We met at 08:00am. Discussed local dive site and settled on Lover’s Point, Pacific Grove. We suited-up, and geared-up and headed for the stairs on the Southside side of Lover’s Point Park. Once on the beach(rocks) at high tide Barbara Davis instructed us to set our compass heading for North(0-deg). We are all in the water by 09:11am. With Barbara being the most experienced at this location I follow her across the surface to 20 feet of depth. We descend to the white sand bottom and stay-the-course. We encounter two great rock structure pinnacles on our heading. The outer pinnacle starts at 45, surrounded by Monterey White Sand and rises to within 25 feet of the surface. The pinnacles are home to a healthy kelp bed, good size Kelp Greenlings, various Snails, Nudibranchs, Kelp/Masking Crabs, an occasional Cabazon, Algae, and lots of Hermit Carbs.
On our return we encountered mild surge and waves, however, our egress was far from dry. The small waves were breaking on the rocks and we needed to exit through the whitewater and rocks. All in all a good diving day.
