Now to follow up on my eariler Blog "No Yelling allowed" lets find out what students want in an instructor. I feel that prospective students want an instructor that not only knows how to dive but knows how to teach it to people. We all have our own way of instruction, but for the most part we also have common ways of teaching.

1. Paitence let the student make mistakes so that they can self correct.

2. Kindness understand the students concerns for the course and certain skills.

3. Flexability help the student to find the one way that works for them.

These are just a few of the charectoristics of an instructor. Lets see if we can add to the list.

Also to have the patience with a student who struggles to do things. Even if that means sitting at the bottom for the entire dive doing one thing.

To lead by example.

As a new diver I want the instructor to show me that he or she want to be there. That above all the instructor wants me to enjoy diving as much as they do.There is nothing worst then to see anybody just going through the motions to make a buck.Plus the only way to be a good instructor is to love diving.
