I got certified in August 2017 and haven’t looked back. Last season, I also earned my PADI Advanced Open Water Certification along with the Deep Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Enriched Air/Nitrox, and Zombie Apocalypse Diver (yep, that’s a thing—ask me about it) Specialities. This year, I’ve earned my Aquarium Diver, Aquarium Diver Photographer, Dry Suit, Quarry Diver an Yoga Diver Specialities and my CPR/AED/First Aid certification. (Yes, I’m starting to collect c-cards.) In January 2019, I became a PADI Divemaster.

I’m always ready for a trip to Dutch Springs. Since I teach, I have the summers off, so I can dive any day of the week during those months. While I live in Northeast PA, I travel to Pittsburgh and Central/Southern PA frequently, and I’d like to hear about good sites in all parts of the Commonwealth. I’m also willing to travel to nearby states to meet some new buddies and dive some cool sites. I am also a Volunteer Diver with the PPG Aquarium at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

And now I’m a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

TedG - 6/29/2018 9:30 PM I’m dying to hear about the Zombie Apocalypse Dive. I’ll be at Dutch Springs ready to gear up at about 9:30 on Saturday (tomorrow). Getting AOW in the afternoon/night and Sunday afternoon. Lots of people looking for buddies or teaming up, I hope we at least run into each other so you can tell me about the dive - I read about it but haven’t had the time off to do it. TG

Let me know I am thinking about it just not sure if will be ok with just a wet suit. Keep me posted so if we do it I can get my tank and gear ready plus plan not to get hyper thermia. Yes, I’m still thinking about the New Year’s Eve dive with a wet suit as long as it doesn’t snow. Some guys from my dive shop will also be there, so it would be great if you can join us. As for the temperature, I was there on the last day in Nov. when air temp. was 29 but the water was in the 50s. So, underwater was OK, but the surface interval was a challenge. We’ll have to see what the weather will be. Check in with me as we get closer to the date.
