Thinking of starting a club and it doesn’t matter if you are SCUBA or freediver, male or female; it’s all good. Most of the diving in the Hernando Beach, Aripeka, Hudson area is a minimum of 20-30 miles off the coast. You need a good boat and you have to be serious and have free time to get out there. Depending on response we have a 26 foot diesel boat with all electronics.... Video, u/w photography; get in touch. Looking for people with 6-8 years of experience minimum. see portfolio

Most clubs start by chartering a boat to take them where they want to go. In the early days they were fishing boats and we brought our ladder, rinse tanks............

Once your club gets established you can look for a boat. I still kick myself over one I passed on at a government auction. Two small Army tugs, one with a cracked hull and the other with a bad diesel. I would need to win the bid on both and swap the engine into the good hull. The engine cover was even the right height for the bench and tank rack. Then add a bimini cover and we would be ready to go, well a Captains licence too!

Did you know your dive log will help you get a Captains license? Those hours spent on diveboats count toward the hours you need :)
