The only time I ever got seasick was wearing a 7 mil hood, I felt like I was being strangled :( Now I use a 3 mil hood with a beanie so it’s still 7 mil on the head but not around my neck :)

I love my Pinnacle 7mm Moreno wool lined, zip back, hood, but when it gets really cold, I break out my DUI 11mm hood and tuck in the neck warmer collar.

Make sure you get one without a bib, unless you have a warm neck collar you want to tuck it into. I just ordered the 5/7mm.

I recommend 4th Element. Their hoods (and gloves) are very stretchy, which makes the 5 mil feel like most 3 mils and the 7 mil should be like a 5 mil. But they are still very warm. I would say maybe warmer than any other hood or glove I have had of the same thickness. I think this is due to the stretchyness as well, because I can get the right size without it feeling too tight and it conforms to the curves of my face well. Also the whole inside of the hood is skin seal material that helps limit water ingress and movement.
