I added a new dive site - freshwater but if you have not seen a schooner or a wreck this is an easy dive. No more than 15 feet deep or so - the water is cold but the diving is good. Just swim upstream or the silt may cause poor viz.

Interesting find or had you heard it was there? Some of those schooner wrecks off NJ are missing their rigging which means they ended life as barges :( Did you see any mast?

I had heard about this dive from Scubaboard.com - but I called around to a few LDS’s no one had heard of it. It is very easy to find but it is a long walk from the parking lot of the Great River Park.

I saw what looked like telephone poles - they looked newer than what I would expect for a mast. But if it was a full schooner the mast may have broken and sunk in the muck or to your point it may have been a schooner transitioned into a barge that out lasted it useful lifespan...

Either way it is a neat dive - close to shore and inland from any real ship wrecks... :-)

BTW - still thinking RI dives... lol
