NJ Boat Needs More Divers.

In Point Pleasant is a 35 foot Ship Called Coarsair. She is newly outfitted for diving and fishing. New interior, new engines, new bridge and electronics with full head, tv, freshwater wash and more. I have been diving and fishing her for the past 3 years but all my military dive buddies had to go one way or another. I am looking for some divers who are interested in joining me for some fun Jersey wreck diving and Spearfishing, and rod fishing. This is not a Charter. This is a group of people who love to dive. I mostly Solo dive these days but its always more fun to share the experiences. The Boat runs Long seasons, March to December. (Depending on the freeze). I run out a few days a week, night diving, and every weekend. If anyone is interested reach out to me and we can talk about it more. Below is a link to some photos of some activities from this year. Any questions let me know.

I’m in! Where do you go out of? I dive with a group out of a dive shop on City Island in the Bronx. We are always looking for ocean dive opportunities.

I was Messaged and asked about cost to go on the boat and how many dives you get. People, this is Not a charter. There are no "costs" like a charter fee. I go out Diving no matter what. When i go out and other divers are with me, Chip in for Gas (Optional) Average cost to run to a dive site on this boat is $50.00 for gas. Now split that between 2 or 3 divers. Thats all. And if you stay at end of day to help clean the boat, Beer is always in the fridge. How many dives do you get. How many can you do? I am on rebreather so i am in water 2 or 3 hours sometimes. DO whatever you want. Dive, swim, fish, whatever. If i get enough people interested Im looking at possibly starting a dive club that actually owns a boat.

Jonah keep me posted. We are a small group out of the Bronx. If you need an extra 1-2 divers to round out a trip we’d be interested and more than happy to chip in. We mainly dive the Long Islans Sound and then do some ocean charters from time to time. Looking forward to learning more about where you like to dive. Thanks for the post! I have kids so the more schedule notice the better! :)

Jonah,

Nice to hear of the opportunity you provide. I am recently back into the diving realm and am hearing up now to get back into some deep sea diving activity as of this weekend.

I understand NJ requires extra tanks for boat dives and no doubt NY has equipment rules of the type so I may not be up to par with my gear until a a few weeks from now.

This being said you present a great opportunity and I will be keeping a close eye on developments here to offer my participation as soon as I am ready.

Thanks in advance for everything,

Ian.

Hey Guys. Been teaching all week and working on My Exploration team at the 200 and 300 foot depth marks. I am back to the boat this week. This coming week and weekend so Far. Sunday for sure i am going out, I think i already have 3 other divers interested. They are not confirmed till tomorrow but are like 80%. If anyone else has interest Sunday let me know And by tuesday i will send emails to those who are confirmed to come. This is a definite dive day. Saturday If anyone is interested I will go out as of now no one is available to dive saturday. So I will be sitting at the dock. i only need one other person to run the boat so if anyone has any interest let me know. The weekdays I have one person with some availability (yes i will run during the week). The days that would be possible are thursday or friday. If anyone has interest in these days, Let me know.

200 /300 sounds a little deep. I’ve just been out once since a good two years absence. I’ll be more confident shortly no doubt but until then this is a little beyond my scope...

Sounds like a great opportunity though, so thanks.

Ian.

No NO. The boat we are doing dives less than 100’. Ocean diving. The exploration diving to 300’ is a closed exploration.
