As an instructor, do you accept children (anyone under the age of 18) in your scuba classes? If so, please select the minimum age and explain any other restrictions you personally have...regardless of the minimum standards set by your certification agency.

[Choose #4] It all depends on the kid. Follow standards so officially 10. Heck I’ve had adults that were bigger problems.

[Choose #4] I’ll teach a child (10yo+) if an adult family member is certified or training with them.

[Choose #4] I’ve taught children based on their motivation and maturity level (minimum age 10, as set by PADI Standards). I find that under 14-year-olds tend to test my patience, and they take 2-3 times as long to teach as would an adult in the same course.

[Choose #4] Minumum age depends on the student. We go by maturity level, we have certified 10 year olds, but generally find that 12 is a better age.

[Choose #4] 10 ys & up, as is allowed by training agencies. I adhere strictly to ratio standards by age & one of the parents must either be a diver or going through the course themselves.
