Zeagle Rapid Diver (BCD Reg Tank Combo) - Have you tried one?

Have you ever tried one of these? It’s a combination BCD, Reg, Inflator and Tank.

From Zeagle’s website:
First-Response and Military customers asked us to produce a complete Diving System that provided all the necessary elements for breathing and buoyancy control in a compact, quick and easy-to-don package. That became the Tactical-Rapid-Diver™. Zeagle Dealers were so impressed, they requested a consumer version. The result is the Rapid-Diver™ BC.

They sell for $1042.

- 25lb lift capacity
- Power inflator & LP hose
- 20 cu ft aluminum cylinder (black or silver)
- Zeagle RaZor valve/regulator with 44" hose
- Submersible pressure gauge
- Remote shoulder dump
- Front mount tank straps for 6,13,20 & 27 cu ft capacity cylinders
- Adjustable load-bearing back pad
- Adjustable crotch strap

It’s intended to be used in scenarios that require rapid underwater deployment. The setup does not have an alternate reg or depth gauge...and the tank is only 20 cu ft compared to the standard 80 cu ft aluminum tank. But I find myself really wanting one of these for some reason, even for quick recreational diving. It would be cool to keep this in my truck all the time, just in case I find a water hole I want to dive into.

They use a tank valve and 1st stage combo as well, called the Envoy Razor. It has a fill adapter with a quick disconnect port on the tank valve. If you’ve ever filled paint ball tanks from a scuba tank, you know what I’m talking about.

And here is the Rapid Diver user manual for more information: zeagle.com/~/media/Zeagle/Files/RAPID_DIVER.ashx

I have one that I keep on my boat in Ft. Lauderdale. I use it for quick dives etc. I did use it to change a prop once when I was about 3 miles offshore. I use the RaZor 1st stage with an Atomic T2 2nd stage on the bottle. My normal gear is a Zeagle Ranger LTD and 2 Atomic T2s as I dive long hose/ necklace. Both BC’s work flawlessly for me. Make sure you get the split (Y) crotch strap and not a standard unless you are built like a Ken Doll. lol

BTW, I use the bottle as my pony with a Cressi mini SPG. I really like the first stage as it saves several inches in length as I squeeze it into the pony zip mount that zips under my wing. It took me several dives to get used to its size and weight characteristics but don’t even notice it now. They sell the zipper for a 6cf but I made the 19/20 fit.
