Dive volunteers and supporters,
Tampa Bay Green Consortium announces our first of many marine debris cleanups scheduled for 2014. Thanks to volunteers like you, we have collected over 5,000 pounds of marine debris in the Tampa Bay waters! That takes us to over a one and a half million pounds of marine debris along Florida’s coastal waters.
Our first “Dive Against Debris” Dive Cleanup this season is scheduled for Saturday, March 15th 2013. TBGC is sponsoring this dive cleanup at Ft Desoto Bay Pier to support Tampa Bay Watch’s Great American Cleanup 2014 event.
Like all of our dive cleanups, we need volunteer divers, kayaks/canoes, safety observers, and data collectors.
EVENT LOCATION: Ft Desoto Bay Pier 3500 Pinellas Bayway S, St Petersburg, FL 33715
EVENT DATE/TIME: Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 0800-1200. The Safety Brief will be at 8:30am.
POC: To volunteer for this event please send an e-mail with your name, contact info, and what position you are volunteering for to volunteer@tampabaygreenconsortium.org. We will send you an info sheet on this event.

Scott Lucci (owner of World of Water Incorporated), Anette Monroe (owner of Gulfport Dive Center), and Al Jeffrey (owner of ScubaQuest) has graciously offered to provide tanks (or air) and dive gear for those who need it (based on availability). Please make sure you thank them for their support.

Again, thank you for all of your continued support.
