First of all, thanks to all those who responded to my previous post regarding Bonaire. Some excellent info... Anyway, one of the places we are looking at is Eden Beach Resort. The only reservation I have is that some posts I found suggested the reef was not that nice here. On the other hand, there are some wrecks. Finally, is there a resort where you can dive the Hilma Hooker right from the resort? Thanks.

geagle, I have done Eden Beach. The entry is mostly rubble. At 60 feet right off there pier there is a little wreck, along with an underwater webcam. To the left at the entrance to harbour village marina is the wreck "Our Confidence". If the current has you going north, then you will enjoy the reef of the dive area called Front Porch, where the old Bonaire Beach Hotel used to be. You also have to watch the current at time. When I was diving there, we went against the current to the north and enjoyed the dive. My buddy and I turned around at 1500 lbs in our tanks. All of the sudden we were in a drift dive mode..and I exited with 1100 pounds!!!! It is an interesting dive site. Different than most. Are there better on the island? Absolutely! Are there worse on the island? IMHO, yes. You have more than 63 dive sites to choose from. So you will enjoy. The "Hooker" does not have a resort in front of it as it is just south of the Salt Pier. Check out the book Shore Diving Made Easy by Susan Porter. Also check out www.shorediving.com where you can actually look at Bonaire`s dive sites. Liz
