I am looking for someone to give me knowledge on free diving. I am really interested in getting into it but don’t know where to start. Can anyone help me?

I practiced some breathing exercises I found online (like this one) and it improved my breath hold time quite a bit. It’s all about how you breath prior to free diving and how relaxed you are.

Regarding equipment: I’m sure you’ll want a wet suit and a weight belt with just enough weight to make you neutrally buoyant. Not sure how important a snorkel is to free divers, but I’m sure someone with more experience can help answer this question.

Would you be spearfishing while free diving?

Thanks a lot for the advise. That breathing website was what i was looking for. I might look into spearfishing down the road but for now I’m just trying to learn about free diving. I would defiantly take any information you have on spear fishing too.

Hey dhurrle, I live in Ohio and freedive at Gilboa quarry in the northwest part of the state. It is a great place to learn the sport. I would be willing to meet you there some weekend soon and work with you. I have tons of extra gear if you are anywhere near my size you can use.
