Greetings,

I will be staying at the Bahia Mar Marina Resort in Fort Lauderdale Florida over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. I am going with some non-divers but I plan to do some dives onsite with Sea Experience. Please let me know if you are interested in buddying up for some dives. Should be fun!

Check out Force-E dive Center while you are there. They can set you up with a few different boats and any rental gear you might need. I dived with them out of Pompano,
http://www.force-e.com/stores/fort_lauderdale_scuba_center.shtml the shop is only a mile from the boat Basin. The trick is the parking, the fishing head boats take up the parking at the marina early. I found mostly friendly local divers on the boat in two days of diving. Other than getting passed some swift surface currents it is GREAT diving. The best drift diving to be found. For a few extra dollars the boat I was on had tanks on board which beat stopping by the shop to pick them up the night before.

Enjoy

If you want to go to Pompano go to South Florida Diving Headquarters (SFDH) http://www.southfloridadiving.com/ and free parking is less than 50’ from the boat (Parking is for the shop only so no competing for it. They have a small shop on site with the 3 boats and boat rides (usually 10-20 minutes only) are $55 for 2-tank if you have all your gear. Usually a wreck first dive and reef drift for second dive. I found SFDH through Force-E in Pompano, Force-E doesn’t or didn’t have the boats so was easier to go directly to the boat operators.

PS: I have dates planned for a 16 day multiple location dive trip in Philippines for April 2013. May have room for additional diver. Travel by my personnel SUV in the Philippines beginning at mayonviewresort.com (my house). Itinerary: Donsol Bay (dive/snorkel with whale sharks, Puerto Galera, Subic Bay (mostly war wrecks).

My, two suggestions are to do a search here on the member section and send out some emails if you don’t get any responses. I did that a few years ago and found people to dive with in Ft. Pierce.

Second suggestion: You should check with the members of GoldCoast Scuba meetup http://www.meetup.com/goldcoastscuba/ they always have some shore dives going on and/or dives that you can sign up for while there. Couldn’t ask for a nicer group of peeps

And enjoy, we just got back from that area after a week of diving, can’t wait to go back again, amazing stuff to see....always a great dive to be had!
