I will be in the Raleigh, NC area week of Aug 18-22, 2011. Would like to do some wreck diving on Aug 21 /22. Looking for a dive buddy who knows the area or a recommenation of dive shop / scuba club.

I went down there last summer and dove with Olympus Dive Center right in Moorehead City, I’d recommend them. I did the full day Spar shark dive and enjoyed that. Also, if you dive with Olympus you can get discounts on some of the hotels in the area, I stood at a big Hampton Inn down there which was only about a 5 minute drive from Olympus (was helpful since they want you dockside at 6:30am). I heard good things about them as well. Just driving down for 1 (2 days) max. Looking for a quick local dive, maybe a 1/2 day charter for a wreck.

Any thing you do here from Raleigh will be about a 2 hour drive to the dock. Check out Aquatic Safaris out of Wilmington.

Yes on Olympus.. We are headed there next week and will be diving with Olympus 12-13 August.. We’ve used them before and they are awesome..
