In late July and August before the lake turns over the vis will get up to around 6’. I had a house on the Texas side just north of the bridge and people used to spear fish around the bridge. You would be better off going to Athens Scuba Park or the Blue Lagoon since you are a new diver. Just my opion but it is still fun to have a place that’s near to develope your skills!

i dont have too much of an issue w visibility. at lake ouchita visibility was 4 ft max until you were at about 45 feet below there it was 6 to 8 ft maybe. i just want to get in the water again before heading to honduras. think i might make the terrell drive though on a sunday if i can find a dive buddy

Roatan is where I did my OW and I wish that I had more experience when I dove there. The surge was wicked the week that I was at CoCoView resort. Good luck on finding a place to dive locally.

July 19th looks like it would be best. I’ve got to check w/ my other half to make sure there isnt any issue on that day but I’ll def let you know. I’m still new to diving and this will be the first time for me to dive w/ out my class. so bear with my new-ness.

Im gonna have to say no, it looks like Im going to be moving in july, so its going to have to wait, I definately appreciate the offer, but i think im going to try to swing the advanced O/W cert in august. Wish I had the funds to do it all, lol
