I will be in Maui November 25-30 and am looking for a dive buddy as I am the only diver in my vacation group (they all need to get in gear and get certified!!) Or if anyone has any snorkeling spots that we all can enjoy, that would work too. ~Thanks!

Lori,

Maui isn’t a great dive spot. I’ve dove there twice and was underwhelmed but Lahaina divers runs a shark dive on Thursdays that’s supposed to be amazing. I missed it last time I was there because the water was too rough. Try it though.

Hey there; A very good snorkel spot in Maui is the Molokini Crater. There are many ops that travel to this site. All of your snorkel buds would have a great time. It is also a great spot for Scuba. Many ops go out dailey. I have dove with Maui Diamond and had a great time. Have fun on your trip!!

I’m in Maui right now and the current is ripping due to the full moon. I went out with Lahaina Divers and the only decent spot was in Olawahu since it’s protected. The crew was telling me it was bad all over right now. I took my kids out for Snuba off of Kaanapali beach and that turned into a huge drift dive for all of us. Then we got pounded in the surf trying to get back in. Overall it was a great experience for everyone and there were dozens of turtles cruising around. We got lucky today and saw a few whales breaching about a mile off of our hotel though!
