Most people only have members on their buddy list that they dive with. There are some members that like to have "virtual" buddies as well to chat with or exchange ideas. Just search around the site and find buddies you want to get to know and talk to them and maybe add them to your buddy list to keep in contact.
If you’re going on vacation, search for local buddies in that area to dive with people that know the best dive spots!
