I have the iGills housing and ap and have used it on two dive trips now. It works great. I have gauged the computer’s accuracy against analog gauges and another dive computer and it reads very accuratly. It also takes surprisingly good pictures and video even at depth without a flash. However, the app tends to freeze up. Out of the 10 dives I’ve taken it on, the computer and/or camera functions froze up on me on two dives. It was absolutely useless at that point. Just another thing to keep track of. In both cases, it was just a matter of turning the phone off and then on again to reset, but the biggest drawback of iGills in my opinion is that you cannot turn it off while in the housing. So you have to wait until after the dive to address freeze ups. Also, not being able to turn off the phone makes the battery drain very quickly. If iGills would address this, and the freeze up issues within the app I would absolutely recommend the investment. It’s actually quite affordable compared to other dive computers, and way more affordable than most cameras.
