Some background info: I dive out here in Maine, where the bottom tends to be rocky in the ocean.

As mentioned in a earlier post, nylon does sink, so this may pose an entanglement/snag concern for you. So on my dive flag float this is not my choice.

Polypropolene does float, thus it will not get fouled on the bottom. Yellow poly line is effected by UV ray exposure, but there is a black poly line available that is UV resistant and it floats also. This is what I use when I dive - no fouling and it has a long life. I’ve used it for years and it works great.
