There are not many dive stores in my area, however, being new to diving I want to support local businesses especially nearby dive stores, well 34 miles away is not nearby but the closes near me.

Amazon.com advertises Aqualung Zuma Travel scuba gear that includes 1st, 2nd stage octopus, lp hoses, computer console w/pressure gage, HP hose, BCD, LP QD Jose, owners manual for $1,099.00, does not have a compass.
I have an outdated sea quest BCD i have not used yet so I’m wondering if I should stick to what I have and purchase a regulator set, computer and compass separately. It seems to me my option may be a new BCD package that includes regulators, octopus and computer.

Make sure whatever you buy can be serviced nearby. Most of my regs are Oceanic but the LDS closed so now it’s an hour ride to the nearest equipment specialist I trust.

Sound advise, the nearest dive store sales aqualung products so it makes sense to purchase scuba gear from them

Something I wish I had done when I first started diving and bought my first set of gear is rent some of the different styles of the big ticket items. For instance I probably never would have bought a jacket style BCD had I rented and tried out a wing first. Same for my reg. set and computer. On the plus side after upgrading and replacing key items I have started to assemble a complete second set of gear for back up and/or for taking a buddy who doesn’t have their own.
