Spit still the best

I’ve used several mask defoggers over the years, but find that spit still works the best especially if I rub saliva in the mask AFTER I’ve rinsed it in prep for the next time I get wet. So even if I forget to spit in the mask prior to a following dive, the surfactant nature of built-up saliva still prevents fogging. Amazing but true. A little on the gross side, but spit is effective, free, and conveniently available.

Mine works for me but I know a few divers that theirs doesn’t work for them. It maybe their diet or improper mask prep. They won’t let me spit in their masks.

Seagold gel is still my favorite. Snot has failed me a few times.

Seagold gel works, even on new unprepped, unflamed masks.

Would never recommend snot. Way too sticky and filmy. Spit on the other hand...:)
