If you’re on a boat about to go scuba diving and you have the option of either a back roll or giant stride, which would you prefer? Please leave a comment about why OR tell us about a short experience you’ve had with either type of entry.

[Choose #1] Depends on the distance. They all have applications. Rubber boat - back roll or gear up in the water (esp. with camera gear). Dive boat over 3 ft - Giant stride, maybe gear up in water. over 6 ft giant stride. And a lot of times I just flop in

[Choose #5] I’m indifferent. Been on boats where both had to be used. I’ll do whatever I need to get in the water.

[Choose #1] I prefer the back roll if diving in conditions where the surface is a bit rough and you dont want to hang around on the surface too long. Otherwise I like the giant stride.

[Choose #5] There is no correct answer here. A back roll or giant stride are both OK depending on the boat configuration.

LatitudeAdjustment - 7/08/2009 11:11 AM
[Choose #2] It really depends on the boat, some are too high for a back roll and some you want to get away from so off the stern is safer.
