Hidden Treasure ( named by Lynn Morton from California). Dropping on the east side of a shallow ridge off Mbaleva, we found ourselves in a seemingly endless sandfall populated with garden eels, tilefish, shrimp gobies and titan trigger nests. A short swim took us to the top of an enticing cliff, which dropped into a valley leading to another ridge, and leading to ??? The big fish population here depends on the state of the tides and currents; the small animal life is rich and enticing- from Blue lipped ( my name- book says 3 spot) and emperor angel fish, to brilliant clouds of anthias, hunting lionfish, anemone fish, rare blennie, strange looking nudibranchs. One can prowl around here for hours.
