Today was a special and memorable day…a couple of us divers got to watch the sinking of the ship Pocahontas. The Pocahontas is a 110ft tugboat and she was sunk north of the Palm Beach Inlet in line with several other wrecks. She sit quite perfect in her resting place because she is just southeast of a popular dive site called the Spud Barge. They sank the ship at about 11 am, and 30 minutes later we were able to dive it. Now at it’s resting place of 75ft of water and this ship will now be the memorial to Danny McCauley. The McCauley family donated $10,000 toward the new reef in honor of their son Danny who died a year ago today in a traffic accident.
