The 23 mile ledge is a large ledge system that stretches for miles along the coast. It is the closest ledge where you start to see corals, mushroom table tops, sea fans, and a lot of the offshore animals. As the name implies it is 23 miles from Masonboro Inlet. The depth ranges from 85 ft on the high side of the ledge to 105 ft in the deep side battered and broke the ship.

Its a good dive site, but exercise some expectation management: Carolina reefs don’t compare to Florida, Cozumel, etc.
