I went scuba diving here on 6/13/2013.
First time back in the water since college. Beautiful sites, Jacks is fantastic. Manta dives, night dive and walls, not brave enough for a pelagic dive yet.

I went scuba diving here on 5/29/2014.
Trip back to Hawaii. Remarkable difference in health quality of reefs and number of organisms. 11 months since last dive there. Pelagic and Ray dives are still fantastic.

Make sure to do the night Manta Ray Dive. The most phenomenal dive! Did 6 dives in Kona, I highly recommend using KonaHona divers. They were awesome.

You must not have been at City of Refuge one hour south of Kona. Many turtles, variety of fish, rays, and corals. Also drops from 20’ to 100’ when swim across the bay and also told spinners will hang out there but didn’t see any last May when I was there. Over the volcanic rock entry (about anywhere in Hawaii) but not difficult to navigate across them.

Somewhat difficult to get in and out. Very rocky shore. Called "2-step" as well because of the way you have to enter and exit the water. Not a lot to see underwater. There are some walls at different depth to search through. Was told there are some spinner dolphins that hang out in the area but didn’t see any. Other than some fish not much marine life.
