Antilla Wreck is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Aruba. This dive site has an average rating of 3.92 out of 5 from 37 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 51-60ft/16-18m. The average visibility is 91-100ft/28-30m.

In the shallow waters a few hundred yards off the coast of Aruba, the wreckage of the German freighter Antilla can be found. The tip of the mast and a portion of the bridge protrude from the ocean to this day, like two artificial island from steel and serve as a welcome resting place for seagulls and pelicans.

This is the largest WW II ship wreck in the Caribbean at ~400 ft. The ship was scuttled by its captain on May 10, 1940. Wide open sections allow divers to penetrate the wreck with ease. But some parts of the wreck are unstable.

4/5/15 I dove this site. Will definitely dive it again! Water temp 77F no wet suit required. Most divers used 3mm shorties.

Large wreck, ship is split in two, many large dive thru’s - History behind the sinking. WW2 - On my two dives the visibility was not that great. (50+) I know for some of you that is excellent, but I would have expected more in that part of the world.

Been there December 2013, twice with Red Sail Sports, awesome dive. Great wreck, although pretty broken up (not a whole lot protruding going on above water on my watch), some penetration. Enough fish, sponges, barracudas, stingray, huge moray. Right across from California Lighthouse. Thought about a shore dive there, in theory can be done but too much traffic.

At the time, the water was very nice. I had a 3/2 shorty, and I didn’t even notice the temperature other than it was very comfortable. Some people didn’t have a wetsuit.

Do you recommend a thin wetsuit?

I went to this site on a snorkel catameran. that is when i decided to get my diving license. It was very crowded with divers and people snorkeling. The water was also chili in the summer.
