Grindavik Lighthouse is a shore accessible salt water dive site, located in Grindavik, Iceland. This dive site has an average rating of 4.00 out of 5 from 2 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 21-25ft/6-8m. The average visibility is 11-15ft/3-5m.

Lighthouse point on the south end of the Reykjanes Peninsula near Grindavik. You’ll leave Grindavik as if you were going to Krisuvik on 427. You will get right at the end of town and take another road right toward the lighthouse. I think it is just before the "End of Town" sign. Follow this road for a short distance and it has a right hand turn off that goes to gravel. Follow this road straight to the lighthouse. There is ample parking as there is usually no one there. There is quite a walk to make it to the water over VERY slippery boulders. Occasionally during cetain summer months, you might get dive bombed and what seems to be attacked by local gulls that make their nests in the rocks.

There is some ship debris and a few cod to see. It has a boulder bottom with lots of vegetation. Also, be careful of the volcanic rock and mind the tide. Low tide makes an easier entrance because you can see the boulders/rock easier and know where to step, but it is possible at high tide to float and crawl over the rocks, just watch your gear. Water is cold and a full 7mm is recommended minimum. The rescue divers there all wear drysuits.

At this place you are just down the road from the famous Blue Lagoon. A great hot springs resort to get warm after a nice chilly dive.
