Paso del Cedral Reef - Mexico

Loading...
Paso del Cedral Reef is a boat accessible salt water dive site, located in Cozumel, Quintana Roo 77600, Mexico. This dive site has an average rating of 4.61 out of 5 from 36 scuba divers. The maximum depth is 71-80ft/22-24m. The average visibility is 121-130ft/37-40m. This dive site provides bathrooms and airfills.

This is an excellent dive for photography, with plenty of opportunities to photograph schoals. There are large grunt and sea bream groups. Stingrays feed on the sands of the inner reef. Corals exist in small numbers, as you might imagine, because this reef is very exposed, but where the reef is cut by the falls of sand, there are very interesting small coral, as disc and cactus corals. Among numerous molluscs, the queen conch is becoming rare.

This was the second dive of the day. There was a very strong current and I used the Go Pro to take pictures. This was not that deep in many places. Saw a huge Turtle with two large French Angel Fish waiting to eat whatever he dropped. Plenty to see.

Saw my first shark on this dive. I have been diving many times and never a shark, I guess I was due. 10 ft. black tip. An attention getter to be sure. Damn the luck my camera batteries were dead by the time I saw this regal creature at the end of the dive. This was neat dive, lots of fish. Did I say I love Cozumel?
