The Alexander Ramsey is a liberty ship that was sunk in 1984. It is about 2.5 miles from Masonboro inlet in 45 ft of water. It is known as a good beginners level ocean dive. It is commonly used by dive instructors for the open water check out dives. There is usually abundant aquatic life present and an occasional sand tiger shark and a barracuda or two. There is also a swim through in the hull of the ship. It is a good simple fun dive.

First dive at this site, 3-5ft vis., buddy was a new-ish diver (nervous) hung out around the anchor chain. Want to go back during the day to get a better feel of this wreck

Definitely use a wreck reel to see the other sections of the wreck. Very surprised at decent viz & so much to see for a shallow wreck. Was expecting it to be more broken up.
