Trip Report - Little Cayman Beach Resort Jan 09
Nesher - 2/01/2009 11:28 AM
Well, let me first say this trip was orginally slated for Sep of 08. However, due to Hurricane Gustav we (my wife and I) went to Grand Cayman instead. Upon my return my LDS had scheduled a trip to the Little Cayman Beach Resort. Already scheduled to take a dive trip in Jan 09 and not desirous of going alone (AGAIN) I signed up for this land based resort. The first thing I must tell you is that if you live on the West Coast it’s an extremely long travel day. On American from SFO (San Francisco) t...
Thoughts about the 2009 Dive Calendar
Nesher - 11/21/2008 7:31 PM
Each year I set a dive calendar which serves multiple purposes. My dive calendar serves as a dream sheet of dive destinations. Since I just started diving little over a year ago I find myself longing for and gravitating towards healthy abundant marine environments. I also use my dive calendar to set personal dive goals for myself as well. Dive training is an important aspect for enjoying scuba diving for me. I’ve been told that most of the places with big pelagics and abundant marine life are in...
Turks & Caicos Explorer II Liveaboard - Oct 08
Nesher - 10/31/2008 12:57 PM
Finally the trip I had planned to take with Liquid Assets TV which was cancelled due to Hurricane Ike. From SFO the air travel is rather long, over 24 hours. I left my home at 5:00 pm and arrived on the vessel at 6:00 pm EST. I took a friend of mine who was completing his O/W certification onboard. First the M/Y Turks and Caicos Exploerer II is 124- 130ft about w/four decks total and a beam of 22ft. She’s long and slim. She is a very beautiful vessel but she has a very small dive deck. She carri...
Grand Cayman Sep 08
Nesher - 10/31/2008 12:10 PM
First let me say that this trip was supposedly the second leg of trip planned in Feb 08. Additionally, the second leg was originally slated for Little Cayman Beach Resort which was closed due to Hurricane Gustav. The first portion of our trip was canceled due to Hurricane Ike’s destruction of Turks and Caicos. When the dust finally settled we decided to go to Grand Cayman. My wife and I choose to stay at the Westin Casaurina Hotel on Seven Mile Beach. My wife doesn’t dive but she enjoys snorkelin...
Juliet Liveboard Dive Trip Report
Nesher - 5/26/2008 4:59 PM
I just returned from a six night/seven day liveaboard trip to the Bahamas on the S/Y Juliet. For those of you who are not familiar with the Juliet let me attempt to give you some information. The Juliet is a 104ft three masked schooner based in Miami, FL. The Juliet is docked next to the Hard Rock Cafe at the Bayside Marketplace & Marina. The Juliet carries only twelve passengers w/a crew of five. The crew of the Juliet sets the standards for liveaboard vessels as far as I’m concerned. They are ...
Hey Buddies Here’s My Dive Schedule
Nesher - 4/14/2008 3:28 AM
It’s already Apr 2008 and my dive activies will soon commence. The reason I joined DiveBuddy.com was to find people who wanted to share the experience of diving. Basically this blog targets those who have agreed to be my buddies. I want my buddies to be well informed of what I’m up to. Additionally if ANY of you are available, I want to extend an invitation. You are SO welcome to join me. I ’m not sure if people ask for dive buddies just to post beautiful faces. Let me assure you that’s not my i...
