New Divemaster
RAWalker - 9/30/2009 1:56 AM
Yesterday was a big day. It was the day I put my Divemaster application in the mail to PADI. So based on PADI’s usual rapid handling of new certification cards and the like, I expect I’ll be able to prove my professional status in a couple of months....
San Carlos in March
RAWalker - 3/18/2008 10:34 PM
Back from a weekend dive trip to San Carlos Mexico. I was there late last August and really enjoyed it. This time of year the water is significantly cooler.(20*F cooler) I still had a great time. This was my first time using a 7mm wetsuit in saltwater. As expected I needed to add an additional 8 lbs to my freshwater profile. Visibility wasn`t as good this time but far better than my last few dives. Still I decided not to shoot any photos and just concentrate on the dives. The sea life during the...

Today I received a Oceanic Atom 1.0 dive computer that I purchased from another Divebuddy.com member. I even was surprised to find a protective cover for the face of the computer included in th...

This is supposed to get you up close to see the shark in it`s habitat. Now I`ve been to the reef preserve off the Florida Keys and shark and baracuda are all around in those waters. No one is wearing a shark suit or diving in a cage. I`ve had sharks come within 5-10 feet of me and I`ve had baracuda face...
Diving for the Environment
RAWalker - 12/04/2007 1:28 AM
This coming Saturday I`m going to do a bit more than my part for the environment. Like many divers I`m very aware that the sport we enjoy is dependant on our environment being protected. With this in mind if ever I see garbage floating by or littering the bottom I do my part and remove it from the water and dispose of it properly. That I feel is every diver responsibility. Saturday I`ll be diving for Project Aware with the folks of N Depth Scuba. This project is to help clean up Saguaro Lake in ...
