Phuket & Similan Islands, Andaman Sea, ThailandMarch 2006, Phuket, Thailand
Fun dives
Dive Center: Dive Asia, Patong, Phuket, Thailand
Dive Sites: Koh Doc Mai, Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai (Phi Phi Island)

Some sea snakes as well as soft and hard corals - but nothing special. Too many divers around - seen bubbles and fins.

March 2006, Liveaboard MV Black Manta to Similan Islands
Fun dives (18 dives in 5 days)
Dive Center: White Manta Diving Pte Ltd, Singapore
Website: http://www.whitemanta.com/
Dive Sites: (trip starts from Patong, Phuket)
Similan Is. #5: Anita Reef (garden eals)
Similan Is. #7: East of Eden (Deep Dives), Elephant Head Rock (Deep Dives), Shark Fin Reef (caves)
Similan Is. #8: Turtle Rock (Night Dive, cleaning stations)
Similan Is. #9: Mooring Bay (Night Dive), North Point (zebra sharks, eagle rays), Xmas Point (caves & caverns)
Koh Bon: Pinnakle (Deep Dives, zebra sharks), West Ridge (Drift Dives)
Koh Tachai: Plateau (Drift Dives), Richelieu Rock (Deep Dives)

Nices dives with lots to see. Fantastic underwater scenery with rocks, caves & caverns, drop off´s, hard and soft coral gardens. I especially estimated that I could explore these beautiful islands and feel myself as Robinson Crusoe for some hours. In case you dont want to dive deep and have bottom time left you can have more dives - it depends on you.
You dive with Chinese buddies (Dive Center from Singapore) - its funny - some of them dont know how to swim but they dive. The food is also Thai or Chinese style. The vessel is quite comfortable but not as good as the Spirit of Freedom (see my Great Barrier Reef blog).
