I think a 19cuft for up to 100ft seems adequate. 3. I have completed all the book work. I will be taking the swim and treading water tests soon. I have a question regarding the treading water test. I am negatively buoyant. So... i take a deep breath and still sink to the bottom. I am concerned about passing his part of the test. I have been doing exercises to try and increase my lung capacity. However, this will take longer time than I have before the test. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try and practice the "drown proof" techniques this week also. One of the instructors told me that I should be able to wear a core warmer which will make me neutrally buoyant without any deductions for the test. Do you know anything about this? I cannot find this rule anywhere online or in my instructor manual. I replied with the following, what are your comments? I never heard of being able to wear anything except swim shorts. In the Marines, they taught us to get as low as possible in the water. With your head titled back so you’re looking up. Cup your hands, and start outstretched to the sides and move arms all the way to the front, then back again. You should also experiment with different kick styles. I use an alternating, round style...with each leg going in a different direction. You should also be able to swim around. You shouldn’t need to tread the whole time. It’s technically called a survival float. Just survive until the end without touching the sides or bottom and without artificial assistance. Besides that, eat more and gain some fat :)

Dive Liabilty??

I am seeing what responses I get with this dive liabity. You have a customer that wants to go diving, but yet that person whats to do a deep dive to 165’. With regards to PADI standards for 130’. If there was a accident on the dive and that perosn sued you, how would the courts see your actions as to reference to PADI standards, you know that the courts will set the ruleing towards the PADI standards. I know we can do deep dives, but this came to mind if this was to happen me. While this can be the case, in most instances. It’s because we are not breathing nice looooong breaths. EXPLANATION: When we breathe, our exhalations are mixed with carbon-dioxide from our last breath we took in. (we call that dead air) If we take short shallow breaths we build up that CO2 in our lungs making it feel like we are not getting enough air through our regs. ANSWER: To avoid this, take nice loooooong controlled breaths, in and out. Think of it as meditation underwater. The longer our breaths, the more relaxed we will become.

Deep Sea Diving: Assembling the Deep Sea Suit pt2-2 1963 US Navy

Cool training video. http://www.youtube.com/w-+++-atch?v=5s0CeqeT60I&feature=share&list=PLA40407C12E5E35A7

Moving to the "Dark Side" of Rebreather diving

I have just started learning to dive a rebreather- a Hollis PRISM2. If not, why? I don’t mean DAN, they don’t certify new divers...at least I don’t think they do. Most divers are environmentally friendly and help to preserve our oceans. So shouldn’t there be a scuba training agency that is 100% non-profit? Not the kind of agency with a for profit and non-profit division like PADI (ie: Project Aware). Then any extra money goes towards research, beach cleanups, fisheries, education, etc. In the past, I believe some agencies were non-profit, so what changed? Did they just get greedy? Or are there things a for profit company can do to help our world that a non-profit can’t?

Chris Kyle

Chris Kyle gave for our country, great patriot and diver, died at gun range? As long as the boat was moving they stayed near the surface but the Captain was affraid when he slowed in the inlet it would dig in so we cut it loose just outside the Beach Haven inlet. Someone is going to find it and go nuts trying to tie it to one of the wrecks :) Anyone else got an idea for another calculator or fooled around with a historical site? ie, I think a local NJ dive shop or diveboat has been seeding old coins on the Spanish Wreck to build up travel to the site.

Best diving school?

Hello, divers!
