Hello!

I’m recently certified and interested in diving throughout Florida, but especially in areas within a few hours of Gainesville or Tampa. Weekends are the best time for me to dive because of my schedule right now, but I’m looking to get plenty of dives in before going to Grand Turk over my Christmas holiday.
Even if our schedules don’t match to dive together now, message / comment with any suggestions of dive shops, charters, dive spots, etc that are especially great in north / central florida. I would love to hear them.

And for an equipment note, I have mask, fins, snorkel, regulator, and dive computer. So I’ll always be renting whenever I go for wetsuit, tanks, BC, weights, light, and anything else I’m forgetting.

Jennifer

Scuba Shack. It’s been open 33 years. Great shop to dive with.

Hi Jennifer. I’m Ty. If you want to come to Pensacola I can take you wreck diving! We have a shop with a boat and all the gear you need to rent. :)

Lovely! I’m planning on diving quite a bit in early December, so I’ll put it on my list. What dive shop do you work with?

Hi Jennifer. So what springs have you dived thus far? Who did you get your certification through? Do you have all your own equipment yet, or do you need to rent? Let’s go diving. I just dove Blue Grotto yesterday, and it was fantastic.

Hello! I have dived in Devil’s Den and Blue Grotto, but just for my certification dives. I was certified through a shop in Tampa, Diver’s Supply, for SDI open water. I have some equipment, but I would need to rent a BC, wetsuit, and tank. I would love to go diving!

So okay, well are you in Gainesville? I ask this since you list a Tampa Dive Supply as your certifying agent. How did you hook up with them over one like Lloyd Bailey Scuba in Gainesville, or Bill Foote’s Ocala Dive in Ocala? I’m only able to dive on weekdays, as I work all weekend days.

I will be moving back on August 15th, I’m a student at UF. I was in Tampa for the summer, and was certified there with my mom. Weekdays work very well for me! And the drive is relatively short to get to Gainesville from where I am right this moment if you wanted to go somewhere in the next week or so.

We could plan for next Wednesday if that works for you. Write to me privately, and we’ll get it organized.
