Hi, i`m new to NJ and looking for dive buddies (i`m padi rescue) prefer shore diving to start with, me and boats don`t get along! Though i`ll have to sort that out sooner or later. I was down the beach yesterday and the water was pretty damn cold, what mm suit is recommended for round here? Thanks

Hi Lisa,

welcome to Northeast diving. I dive on Long Island, shore and boat, and early season is usually dry suit and when the water warms up it`s over to a 7mm.
The good part of diving in the cooler water around here is it makes a great excuse to head down to Florida for a week or two to dive some warm, clear water...
Again welcome and hope you get that boat thing worked out.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, i’d love to dive with you but i’ve moved to California now, so it’d be bit of a long drive! :)

Hope you find someone, enjoy & be safe.

Lisa
