The Divers Diet

As a former motorcycle desert racer, I had a diet of sorts that I would follow the night before and the morning of any long distance race. The night before a race I would carbo load on such things as spaghetti, lasagna, pizza and the like. The morning of the race I limited myself to such things as bananas, pedialite, and gatorade. I’m wondering, do any of you have any kind of simular diets that you follow? Particularly when you are planning working or physically demanding dives? Or perhaps, are there any dietary rules that you follow when traveling abrod? I would like to hear from anyone who has any thoughts or ideas on this. Thanks for reading my forum posting, take care and dive safe!

I myself do not like to dive after a big meal but after a dive, I’m starving.

As far as a particular diet, mine does not change. I still try to eat healthy and all that stuff.

The biggest and most important thing I would emphasize is to stay hydrated before and after diving

Read "Carribean Chub: Fish or Fat at www.scubafit.com . This article includes energy expenditures and macro-nutrient recommendations for divers. i.e., protien, carbs and fat ratios. General food selections, etc.
