 Getting Back In The Water from Houston, TX

It’s been about 8 years since my last dive in Hawai’i. I was still married then so we dove as a family. Now I’m divorced so I have not dive since. I’ve been wanting to get back in the water but all the dive trips are so expensive. I’m just a social worker with a few part-time jobs.

I missed the ocean, it’s like a different world out there and I miss being one with the underwater world.

I’m looking for a female dive buddy maybe from Houston too or from anywhere. I love to travel. I’ve been doing a lot of traveling but it hasn’t include diving yet but I’m hoping to start diving this year and every year. I’m ready to go anywhere anytime.

I’ve been thinking about diving Flower Gardens lately. When are you going? I thought about live aboard but I don’t know, my stomach gets quesy easily so I ditched that idea. South Padre sounds great too. I will text you but here’s my number 7133493004.

Dory, I am very interested in diving again. My last diving was about 11 months ago so would really need a
Checkout dive before the Flower Gardens.
Have you been diving lately? If not, we could meet at a diving spot here around Houston. We could check out our gear then sign up for the Fling at the flower gardens.
My equipment is all new so needs to be tested.
there’s a place in League City to do some shallow water diving.Let me know.

I’m in Orange County, CA right now but when I get back I need to drop off my computer to get it serviced at Giglin’ Marlin, it’s less expensive than Sea Sports Scuba. I haven’t used it in years. I’m also planning on doing a refresher but if you want to meet in League City for a dive I can just do my refresher there. I’m going to Jamaica in October for vacation and diving. I’ve only dove at Blue Lagoon in Houston. How’s the water in League City?

Also have been to Blue Lagoon and think the League City place would be similar. Will go there soon to test out some long fins. I will see if I could at least try it out pretty soon. I have no dive buddy so that makes it hard. You are so lucky to go dive where some of the famous pirates were! I hope you have a great time!
I will work on my setup and you can get your computer repaired. Will be looking forward for a future dive.
Are you going to live in Houston? If so it would be nice to join the Bay Area Divers, they have local dives.

Yes I live in Houston, actually in Humble. I’ll let you know when I get my computer back. They said it takes about 3 weeks. I need to put in a dive before my actual trip. Maybe we can dive League City the beginning of October.

I have an extra computer if you want to do a practice dive sometime. I know Humble is about 50 miles away so we could find a dive location in between. I have 2 tanks that need hyro so will get on that.

Yes a practice dive before Jamaica will be a good idea. Ok I’ll borrow your other computer. I can only do it on Sundays since I work full time and parttime. Any Sundays will be good for me. Let me know where you want to meet.

I’ll get the 2 tanks serviced then probably will be the following Sunday. We’ll see. Will look for other locations close to both of us.😎
